I listen to everything really... Classic rock, alternative, pop, rap, country (the upbeat kind whereas they aren't bitching about their wife leaving them for the neighbor, stealing the truck and the dog in the process), electronic, blah blah.

Killing an Arab is about a book called The Stranger by Albert Camus.

I highly recommend it. It's fairly short. ( guess what happens)

At the end of the Cure song Robert Smith says "Oh Mersault." Thats the main character of The Stranger.

I like Adam's taste in music there. You should check out Wolf Parade, it's kinda like older Killers, they're canadian and they don't mind half assing stuff, but it's still fun.

Miranda, are you talking upbeat country like Old 97's, James Mcmurtry or maybe even Wilco? Any of those guys are talented artists who aren't just pop stars posing as country with cowboy boots on.

**** I've never even heard of those people. I like artists like Toby Keith, George Strait, Shania Twain... I also really REALLY like older country like Ronnie Milsap, Mel McDaniel & Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

Country is not really a huge thing for me, but I like a lot of it... Probably my favorite genre would have to be classic rock.

I've been listening to Conor Oberst's new album. He kinda ran away to Mexico for a bit and didn't bring his usual band with him. He played a lot with the Mystic Valley Band, but for all intents and purposes its a self titled album. He's well on his way to becoming the next great american singer/songwriter. It feels less grand and composed than his last album, but it feels very tied together and each song works well with the next even if there isn't a unifying theme.
It's just happy!
